About the Editors
Dr. Inamuddin is working as Assistant Professor at the Department of Applied Chemistry, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh, India. He obtained a Master of Science degree in Organic Chemistry from Chaudhary Charan Singh (CCS) University, Meerut, India, in 2002. He received his Master of Philosophy and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in Applied Chemistry from Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), India, in 2004 and 2007, respectively. He has extensive research experience in multidisciplinary fields of Analytical Chemistry, Materials Chemistry, and Electrochemistry and, more specifically, Renewable Energy and Environment. He has worked on different research projects as project fellow and senior research fellow funded by University Grants Commission (UGC), Government of India, and Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), Government of India. He has received Fast Track Young Scientist Award from the Department of Science and Technology, India, to work in the area of bending actuators and artificial muscles. He has also received the Sir Syed Young Researcher of the Year Award 2020 from Aligarh Muslim University. He has completed four major research projects sanctioned by University Grant Commission, Department of Science and Technology, Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, and Council of Science and Technology, India. He has published 207 research articles in international journals of repute and nineteen book chapters in knowledge-based book editions published by renowned international publishers. He has published 165 edited books with Springer (U.K.), Elsevier, Nova Science Publishers, Inc. (U.S.A.), CRC Press Taylor & Francis Asia Pacific, Trans Tech Publications Ltd. (Switzerland), IntechOpen Limited (U.K.), Wiley-Scrivener, (U.S.A.) and Materials Research Forum LLC (U.S.A). He is a member of various journals’ editorial boards. He is also serving as Associate Editor for journals (Environmental Chemistry Letter, Applied Water Science and Euro-Mediterranean Journal for Environmental Integration, Springer-Nature), Frontiers Section Editor (Current Analytical Chemistry, Bentham Science Publishers), Editorial Board Member (Scientific Reports-Nature) and Review Editor (Frontiers in Chemistry, Frontiers, U.K.) He has also guest-edited various special thematic special issues to the journals of Elsevier, Bentham Science Publishers, and John Wiley & Sons, Inc. He has attended as well as chaired sessions in various international and national conferences. He has worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow, leading a research team at the Creative Research Initiative Center for Bio-Artificial Muscle, Hanyang University, South Korea, in the field of renewable energy, especially biofuel cells. He has also worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Center of Research Excellence in Renewable Energy, King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, Saudi Arabia, in the field of polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells and computational fluid dynamics of polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells. He is a life member of the Journal of the Indian Chemical Society. His research interest includes ion exchange materials, a sensor for heavy metal ions, biofuel cells, supercapacitors and bending actuators.
Ms. Maha Khan is a Research Scholar at the Department of Applied Chemistry, Aligarh Muslim University (A.M.U.), Aligarh, India. She has also pursued her Bachelor’s in Chemistry and Master’s in Polymer Science and Technology from A.M.U., Aligarh. Her research work focuses primarily on Enzymatic Biofuel Cells, a pathway to clean and green energy.
Dr. Mohammad A. Jafar Mazumder has been serving as a Professor of Chemistry at King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM), Saudi Arabia. He has extensive experience in designing, synthesizing, and characterizing various organic compounds, ionic and thermo-responsive polymers for corrosion, water treatment, and biomedical applications. Dr. Jafar Mazumder obtained his B.Sc (Hons.), M.Sc (Chemistry) from Aligarh Muslim University, India, MS (Chemistry) from KFUPM, Saudi Arabia, and Ph.D. in Chemistry (2009) from McMaster University, Canada.
In more than 20 years of academic research, Dr. Jafar Mazumder has had the opportunity to work with several international collaborative research groups and has exposed himself to a broad range of research areas. Dr. Jafar Mazumder secured 7 US patents, published more than 85 articles in peer-reviewed journals, 37 conference proceedings, 9 book chapters, and co-edited 4 books with Springers and Trans Tech publications. He is awarded as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry and Chartered Chemist, Association of Chemical Profession of Ontario, Canada. Besides, Dr. Jafar Mazumder is a member of the American Chemical Society (ACS), Canadian Society for Chemistry (CSC), Canadian Biomaterial Society (CBS), and a life member of Bangladesh Chemical Society (BCS). In his academic career, he was awarded numerous national and international scholarships and awards that include the prestigious Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) Scholarship from Govt. of India for undergraduate studies in India, Aligarh Muslim University undergraduate & graduate Gold medal, and certificate of excellence from the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India, and MITACS postdoctoral fellowship (Canada) for pursuing postdoctoral research in Chemical and Biomedical Engineering.
Currently, Dr. Jafar Mazumder is actively involved in several ongoing university (KFUPM), government (KACST, NSTIP), and client (Saudi Aramco) funded projects in the capacity of principal and co-investigators. His current research interest includes the design, synthesis, and characterization of various modified monomers and polymers for potential use in the inhibition of mild steel corrosion in oil and gas industries and the preparation of multilayered polyelectrolyte coated membranes for the removal of heavy metals and organic contaminants from aqueous water samples. Long term scientific goal of Dr. Jafar Mazumder is not merely to make science fun and entertaining for people. It is to engage them with a multidisciplinary scientific mission at a deeper level to create a space through which they can interact with scientific ideas, develop connections between science, engineering, and biology, and thoughts of their own to contributions to society. He feels this goal and engaging personality make him a pleasant person to work with and help inspire his co-workers in any professional setting.
Dr. Mohammad Luqman has 12+ years of post-PhD experience in Teaching, Research, and Administration. Currently, he is serving as an Assistant Professor of Chemical Engineering in Taibah University, Saudi Arabia. Before joining here, he served as an Assistant Professor in College of Applied Science at A’Sharqiyah University, Oman, and in College of Engineering at King Saud University, Saudi Arabia. He served as a Research Engineer in SAMSUNG Cheil Industries, South Korea. Moreover, he served as a post-doctoral fellow at Artificial Muscle Research Center, Konkuk University, South Korea, in the field of Ionic Polymer Metal Composites for the development of Artificial Muscles, Robotic Actuators and Dynamic Sensors. He earned his PhD degree in the field of Ionomers (Ion-containing Polymers), from Chosun University, South Korea. He successfully served as an Editor to three books, published by world renowned publishers. He published numerous high-quality papers, and book chapters. He is serving as an Editor and editorial/review board members to many International SCI and Non-SCI journals. He has attracted a few important research grants from industry and academia. His research interests include but not limited to Development of Ionomer/Polyelectrolyte/non-ionic Polymer Nanocomposites/Blends for Smart and Industrial/Engineering Applications.
