ABSTRACT. This work aims at the production and characterization of the amescla (Trattinnickia burseraefolia) and bamboo (Dendrocalamus asper) plywood panels as elements of a flex material of low environmental impact. These panels were analyzed based on three different treatments: wood; material made up by 60% of wood and 40% of bamboo; and material made up by 60% of bamboo and 40% of wood. The tests performed to compare the performance of each of those treatments were as follows: apparent specific mass; moisture content; thickness swelling; water absorption; static bending; stress wave timer; and, shear and flaw on the wood on the gluing lines. The findings enabled analyzing which of the three material compositions better fits the production of shapes to be used in longboards. The treatment made up by 60% of bamboo and 40% of wood performed best in such analyses, showing better resourcefulness of the bamboo as element of plywood to be employed in the production of shapes to be used in longboards.
