Biomimetic Structures for Energy
Figen Balo, Lutfu S.Sua
Biomimetic one-dimensional carbonaceous materials such as graphene fibres have emerged as promising candidates for multifunctional applications, mainly due to their electrical conductivity, mechanical robustness, and thermal performance. Energy-related biomimetic structures and graphene fibers are analyzed in this study. An analysis of biomimetic and bio-based graphene fibers is conducted for flexible photovoltaic devices based on their key material properties. The most effective graphene fiber composition, balancing mechanical robustness, flexibility, and electrical performance is determined. The results point out the optimal biomimetic graphene fiber formulation, offering superior properties for next-generation flexible solar applications, providing critical insights into material selection for durable and high-performing, efficient photovoltaics.
