Abstract. Current trends in space observation require lightweight phased-array antennas capable of electronic beam steering from geostationary orbit. In this work multiscale numerical framework is developed, combining thermo-elastic micromechanical and macroscopic analyses, both formulated within the Carrera Unified Formulation (CUF). The Variational Asymptotic Method (VAM) is employed to derive effective properties at the microscale, while the Principle of Virtual Displacement (PVD) is employed for thermo-mechanical predictions at the structural level. Validation against commercial tools confirms the reliability and computational efficiency of the proposed approach, demonstrating its suitability for future space antenna design.
