Breakthroughs in renewable EcoFuel: High-octane gasoline biofuel solutions for a low-carbon future

Abstract. Alcohol-blended gasoline is acknowledged as a successful method for improving fuel efficiency and lowering carbon emissions during combustion. Nonetheless, equal consideration should be given to the carbon impact resulting from the refinery production process. The recent research study strives to propose low environmental impact, minimized carbon footprint, and biofuel-derived high-performance gasoline formulation generation with an approach that leverages synergy. Four major types of gasoline with elevated octane rating, including gasoline biofuel-92, gasoline biofuel-95, gasoline biofuel-98, and gasoline biofuel-100, were developed, spotlighting the intentional mixture of gasoline streams obtained from petroleum using delayed coking (DC) naphtha, isomerate, produced light naphtha, and reformate, produced heavy naphtha with knock-resistant oxygenated additives, including methyl alcohol and ethyl alcohol. A collection of research test methods, like resistance to engine knocking, fuel density, chemical stability under oxidative conditions, fractional distillation features, chemical composition of hydrocarbons, Reid vapor pressure (RVP), and Fuel volatility characteristics, has been investigated for their effect on the petrol formulations. Additionally, the results obtained from the experiment reported that the petrol samples based on renewable resources (gasoline biofuel-92, -95, -98, and -100) illustrated compliance with significant fuel property benchmarks in China, the United States of America, and European countries. These formulations exhibited favorable characteristics, for instance, minimal levels of sulfur and benzene, permissible limits of aromatics and olefins, and high-quality distillation performance. By adhering to these strict standards, the produced petrol fuel is aligned as a challenger and environmentally responsible alternative to conventional gasoline. The findings indicated that gasoline biofuel-100 exhibited the most powerful fuel performance under elevated temperatures and resistance to fuel vaporization issues within the aforementioned fuels. In conclusion, the minimized carbon footprints and high-performance gasoline generation with reinforcing effects are a crucial step forward in advancing sustainable transportation.
