Abstract: One of the problems encountered by suppliers of sand here in the Philippines is low productivity of workers and high operational costs due to manual sifting done by laborers. This paper details the design and prototyping of a sand sieving machine to reduce labor, boost efficiency and productivity, and lower costs. The study explains the chosen optimal design selected after evaluating and trading-off various alternatives in terms of material cost and specifications. The machine’s performance was validated through multiple tests. Results showed it reduced sieving time from an average of 31.63 seconds to 14.52 seconds and increased throughput, yielding consistent sand quality. This project offers a practical solution for sand sieving, improving working conditions and productivity, lowering operational costs and supporting future innovations in mechanized filtration.
