Abstract. An ideal model for an ejector refrigeration system using two different refrigerants in the vapor-compression thermodynamic cycle (Binary Fluid Ejector Refrigeration System, BFE RS) was developed to quantify the influence of key thermodynamic parameters and fluid properties on the system Coefficient of Performance (COP). The ideal BFE RS includes a boiler, condenser, evaporator, expansion valve, and an ideal ejector. Different refrigerant combinations were evaluated to quantify the effects of molecular mass, vaporization enthalpy, operating pressure, and mixture type on COP. The model’s results provide practical guidance for selecting the best driver and refrigerant combinations for BFE systems.
