Laser-Made Heat Exchangers for Boiling Heat Transfer Augmentation
Łukasz J. ORMAN, Norbert RADEK, Stanislav HONUS
Abstract. The use of lasers for surface microgeometry modification can be an effective method for improving the performance of heat exchangers, particularly in cases involving boiling. The paper describes the performance of laser–treated surfaces as well as their production. It discusses the morphology and visual characteristics during boiling under ambient pressure. A modification of the model selected from the literature has enabled verification of its usefulness in predicting heat flux from laser–made surfaces.
