Abstract. The paper’s objective is to show the durability obtained at the milling of Al-Li 2043 alloy, used in the aerospace industry. The study compares the behavior of cutters with uncoated inserts with those coated with DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon), evaluating parameters such as insert wear, surface roughness of the machined parts and insert durability. Experiments were performed under various cutting conditions to determine the influence of DLC coating on the process efficiency. The results revealed that DLC-coated cutters offer significant advantages, including longer tool life, making them a promising choice for precise machining of this advanced alloy. The study contributes to the optimization of manufacturing processes in the aeronautical field, providing solutions to improve productivity and quality of finished parts.
