This review examines the critical role of superalloys in nuclear power plants, focusing on their unique properties, manufacturing processes, and applications. Nickel-based, cobalt-based, and iron-based superalloys are discussed, highlighting their high-temperature strength, corrosion resistance, and radiation tolerance. The chapter explores the microstructure and strengthening mechanisms of these alloys, as well as their manufacturing techniques, including casting, powder metallurgy, and advanced surface treatments. Applications in reactor components, turbines, and heat exchangers are detailed, along with case studies demonstrating their performance. The review also addresses current challenges, technological advancements, and future prospects, including the potential of superalloys in next-generation nuclear reactors and emerging sustainable production methods.
