Abstract. The use of agricultural wastes for the production of renewable energy is becoming more popular as communities look for long-term solutions to problems related to waste management and energy. An abundant residue of rice farming, rice straw offers a promising fuel to produce biogas by anaerobic digestion. The aim of this research paper is to analyze the method of converting rice straw into biogas. A culture of bacteria breaks down complex organic compounds present in rice during the anaerobic digestion process to produce methane-rich biogas. To improve the yield and quality of biogas, optimization strategies like adjusting process parameters are investigated. To reduce global warming and advance sustainable development, the results highlight rice straw’s potential as a renewable energy source and call for its usage.
