Design and analysis of portable cricket ball bowling machine

H.S. Rakesha, C.V. Chandrashekara

Abstract: The present work reports design and analysis of a portable automated cricket ball bowling machine. The various vital parts of the machine are modeled using SolidWorks. Static stress analysis is carried out against the various types of loading using the Ansys software. The Mechanism involved in mimicking the bowling operation/activity is developed. The developed design is capable of setting a range and combinations of bowling speed, releasing angle and height for the releasing ball. The present paper explores the modeling, design of elements and analysis of an automatic portable cricket ball bowling machine. The machine delivers balls at variable speeds with adjustable length, angle, and accommodates a range of ball sizes including international standard and synthetic practice balls. The detailed design procedure, drawing and dimensioning are reported. As a part of phase 2 of the work, the fabrication is planned for demonstration of the model.
