A review on sources of water contamination in the Eastern Province, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
Salma Ali ALYAHYA, Feroz SHAIK
Abstract. Rapid urbanization and growth in population is creating an enormous stress on the water resources in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). Water quality is deteriorating due to over exploitation of the resources to meet the growing demand and also contamination due to human activities. Eastern province of KSA is dominated with huge industrial complexes, therefore the demand and contamination of water sources are enhancing each day. This paper presents a short review of the possible sources of contamination to the water resources in the eastern province of the kingdom.
