Parametric study of footing on sandy slope soil

Abstract. This paper presents a parametric study investigating the behavior of footings on sandy slope soil. Footings play a critical role in supporting various structures, especially when situated on slopes composed of sandy soil. The study seeks to assess how various factors such as setback distance, depth of slope, soil’s angle of internal friction, and density impact the performance of footings in sandy slope environments. Through a numerical analysis using Plaxis 3D, the study explores the interactions between footings and sandy slope soil under varying conditions. The outcomes shed light on how these parameters influence bearing capacity, offering essential insights for professionals in geotechnical engineering facing similar project challenges.
