Abstract. Diagrid structures, which are identified by their diagonal grid framework, are becoming more and more popular for high-rise construction due to their higher lateral load resistance and efficient material usage. This study offers a thorough evaluation of how base shear and drift in diagrid structural systems are impacted by wind and seismic stresses. The investigation aims to evaluate these systems’ performance in seismic and wind settings in order to shed light on their different benefits and drawbacks. The distribution of base shear and drift in various situations is illustrated by the findings, which show that diagrid systems perform better than standard framed structures in terms of lowering base shear and lateral drift. The result shows, in terms of both earthquake forces in the (EQX) and (EQY) directions, the reinforced concrete (RC) frame configurations exhibit greater base shear values than the V diagrid + RC frame and the X diagrid + RC frame, respectively. Whereas, the base shear of the RC frame is greater for wind loading in the x direction (WINDX) and (WINDY) than the base shear values of the V diagrid + RC frame and X diagrid + RC frame configurations, respectively. Additionally, suggestions for further study are given, with an emphasis on improving diagrid designs for better performance in cases with coupled loads. The present research highlights the possibility of utilizing diagrid structural solutions to enhance the security and effectiveness of contemporary tall structures.
