Abstract. This study focuses on the geotechnical and geophysical characterization of traditional construction materials in the Tafilalet region, Morocco. The objective is to assess the physical properties of soils used in traditional construction to optimize their use in sustainable building projects. The materials, primarily composed of raw earth, were analyzed through granulometric and compaction tests, along with geophysical methods such as electrical resistivity tomography (ERT) and ground-penetrating radar (GPR). These analyses evaluate soil composition, compaction potential, and stability, particularly to moisture content, providing recommendations for the optimal use of local materials in eco-friendly construction
