Nanotechnology is growing rapidly because of its widespread uses in different fields of science. History of nanoparticles ranges back to ancient Egyptians times when the people used Pbs nanoparticles in their hair dyes; approximately 4000 years ago. Nanoparticles are tiny particles that vary in size from 1 to 100 nanometers. They are classified into three distinct types according to their origin. Nanoparticles can be produced by various chemical and biological methods and from various organisms as well, such as Bacteria, Fungi, Algae, viruses and Yeast. Viral nanoparticles can be designed by altering the genetic and chemical makeup of viruses to enhance their functionality. This has led us to successfully manufacture numerous antibiotics, as antibiotic resistance has significant impact in global healthcare. They have enabled us to deal with the microbial mechanism of antibiotic resistance with the help of Beta-Lactam ring that is present on their surface. Moreover, nanoparticles play a pivotal role in drug delivery, gene therapy and nano therapy in case of bacteria and fungi. Although they have uncountable positive impacts, but they also exhibit some of the negative effects too, mostly in plants.
