Applications of MXenes in Electrocatalysis
Keerthiga Gopalram
MXenes belong to the group of two-dimensional inorganic compounds and have been recently exploited to solve major research problems. The doping, etching, and composite preparation with MXene will lead to synergistic enhancement of active sites. This book chapter summarizes recent updates on MXene as an electrocatalyst for reactions of hydrogen evolution, oxygen reduction, batteries, supercapacitor, nitrogen mitigation, and CO2 mitigation reaction. The adaptability of MXenes with its modification of surface terminal groups facilitates MXenes for specific electro-catalytic reactions.
